Suits

This ended up being one of the biggest struggles for our wedding.

We had several friends use Men’s Warehouse with horrible reviews. The wrong sizes came in. The wrong colors came in! The wrong fit came in, AND they wouldn’t remedy it!! And only a day before the wedding!! HORROR STORIES. We were pretty clear we didn’t want to go that route.

One of our groomsmen, for his own wedding, was going with a local guy by Oak Park Mall, Dan Dan the Tailor Man. He seemed to be having some luck, so, we decided to go with him. We wanted to purchase the suits rather than rent them, since the price difference between renting and buying a suit was rather small.

Before I go further, I will say that Dan Dan took care of us and made sure that every suit was ordered, correct, and arrived before the wedding. He genuinely cared about us and that we were getting what we wanted for our wedding:
1. Eight Groom/Groomsmen Suits in medium grey with green ties
2. Three Father-of-the-groom/ushers suits in dark grey with pink ties
3. Two green bowties for the ring bearers (they ended up being adult sizes)

We, however, needed to keep close tabs on the whole thing. He was very scattered. One of our ushers who lives out of state tried calling in his size THREE times! Eventually, the bride had to drive up and speak directly face-to-face with Dan Dan about all the suits and what was needed. Once all was communicated, he did the work and got what we asked for.

Ring Bearers

We had a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old as our ring bearers, so instead of choosing for them, we gave the parents parameters and let them find it for their children. “Grey that matches the groomsmen OR the ushers.” It worked out well and their over-large bowties turned out to be stinkin’ cute!
