Save the Dates

Our engagement was 11 months. We had a lot of out of town invitees. So, we opted for save the dates.

We created and sent them 9 months in advance. 145 cards were sent to invite a total of 330 people. Of those invited, our reception welcomed 210 guests.

We purchased both our save the dates and invitations from the Knot, and were satisfied with them. The USPS’s card sorting machine left streak marks on our save the dates, which was disappointing, but outside the realm of our control. People still liked them.

Unsolicited advice: if all your guests are in town, you can save a penny and not send these. It was a nice touch, and people genuinely appreciated the formal notice, but it’s not always necessary for every wedding.
