Dresses
We had 7 bridesmaids. One bridesmaid was over 6’2″ and one just over 5’2″. 3 bridesmaids had size 12 feet and one had size 8. We had 2 pregnant bridesmaids. We had 2 bridesmaids with toddlers.
Okay. Let’s match.
One of my matrons of honor and I popped into David’s Bridal one day to see what we could find, and, I must say, the variety and price for quality there was rather disappointing for bridesmaids dresses. (See below to the flower girl – they still came through for us in that regard.)
Although I had heard an unfortunate story or two through Azazie, overall the reviews were decent, so I took a look at the website. They were cheaper and had a much wider variety of color and style than David’s Bridal. The only thing is that you almost always have to have it tailored for length. In the end, it seemed like the best option to have everyone feel comfortable and have it fit correctly.
I ordered some free swatch sample colors to show to John, and after deciding which one we liked best, began working with my matron of honor to order some test samples of dresses, which Azazie offers for only $10/order and you can try up to 3 dresses per order.
Halter neck with an empire waist seemed like it was the best option. That way, if a pregnant one grows, she can easily alter it. Plus, it works well for both tall and short people. Was it going to work? We were all a bit worried because every woman feels differently in different styles.
PHEW! They all not only looked good…THEY LOOKED AMAZING! STUNNING! GORGEOUS! I was so impressed. Praise God! Alleluia! Stress out the window!
Shoes and Accessories
We did not require a uniformity for these things since the dresses were all the same. Gold jewelry or the earrings that I gave them as gifts. And I sent a variety of shoes to give the “vibe” of shoe that I was thinking (all TOMS because that is what I wore). If the ladies already had shoes that they liked or found ones on another website/store that matched the vibe, then great! They were floor length dresses anyway, so you couldn’t really see them for the day.

Flower Girl
Although David’s Bridal was no good for the bridesmaids, they came in CLUTCH for the flower girl. If you are a 3-year-old flower girl, your dress better be huge with a heart back!! SO CUTE. We used the same flowers that we used in the centerpieces and on the cake to make her flower ball. We hot glued everything together and tossed it down the stairs to make sure it wasn’t going to fall apart in the hands of a 3-year-old.
She knew her job and wanted to do it right, running down the aisle after the ring bearer shouting “You’re supposed to hold my hand!” We wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
